That clarity led to the rebirth of Castor Engineering
One of our defining moments came at 3:00 a.m. when a Tier-1 automotive supplier had a critical line down. After calling every name in his phone, the maintenance manager reached Chris. With only a hint of the problem, Chris sourced a replacement PLC on the drive over, recovered the program from a fried controller, rewired the panel, and had the line running before sunrise.
When the Plant Manager arrived, he was already in crisis mode—trying to understand what happened and how close they’d come to starving their OEM. After a quick internal meeting, he was informed the issue had already been resolved, just minutes before he walked in.
His first reaction was frustration:
“Well, this isn’t going to be cheap.”
Chris handed him the receipt for the components and simply replied:
“Just cover the cost of the parts. We’d like the chance to earn your business.”
That moment shaped our motto.
